So what happened? Ever hear the saying "Make plans and God laughs"? That's what happened. The hubs and I had a pretty clear plan of how we wanted the next couple of years to go. We were building a new home, had just bought our sporty little cars (even after I had a 2 hour internal battle about going with a fun/frivolous little coupe or graduating to a small sedan for practical purposes) back in December, and were planning on making at least one BIG trip to somewhere we had never been before trying to grow our family. God laughed. A lot. If you read my last post, you know that we found out in June that we were expecting. This was smack in the middle of the homestretch to closing on our new home. If you've ever bought a home you know how stressful this can be. On top of dealing with the builder, designer, county inspections etc, we were both going through (good) changes at work and little time to focus on anything else. I was planning on running my first half marathon this fall and was working out pretty heavily between April and June as well as eating just enough to keep me going. After about 2 months of feeling worn down and not wanting to eat at all, I finally made an appointment to see my doctor. I had my suspicions, so yes, I did take a few (five) at home tests. My doctor said everything was normal. Then they broke out the sonogram machine and I heard, "Yup... that's a baby! Congrats, looks like you are around 12 weeks." WOW.
We were happy and excited but most of all, we were just in shock. In fact, I think we are still in shock and sometimes I forget that I'm pregnant until I get jabbed in the ribs. Or drop my lunch and look down to see it on my belly. Or try to put on my gym shoes by myself.
So like I said, I'm a little late to the blogging party and really have not taken as many belly shots as I probably should have and I know I'll regret it as soon as my belly is gone. I do have a few though where I look a little more presentable. It took me a while to get some maternity clothes and make peace with them so I'll go ahead and share some photos where my belly is not hanging out of the bottom of my shirt. :)

21 Weeks - Date night with the Hubs

25 Weeks - Date night with the Hubs... again
Here I am at 29 weeks and those are the only 2 photos I'm willing to share of me and my belly. I'm sure I'll have more after my shower this weekend so I will be sure to post them. Well, it's that time kiddos. I'm off to go get a snack :)
