Merry Christmas! What a wonderful week it has been! As usual, we spent Noche Buena with my side of the family having dinner and opening gifts. This is a tradition we've celebrated for the last 10 years or so. We figured that Christmas Day is really about Jesus and His coming into the world, so we go to mass and spend time together without the distraction of gifts and such. So when do we celebrate? Christmas Eve! We share a BIG meal, stay up late, listen to Christmas carols and watch the kids open gifts. Then the adults get their turn and WOW was it a great night for gifts! I'm so excited about all the pampering I'm going to be getting in the next few weeks! My fabulous husband bought me a spa package in addition to a mani/pedi which will totally get me out of the house for a relaxing day once our little one arrives!
And what about that? Only 19 days to go! We are still waiting but not so patiently. Ok, maybe I'm the one not being patient. Sleep is becoming more elusive as I'm waking up more frequently due to back pain, bathroom trips, and some pretty scary dreams. Apparently ALL of these are due to the amazing amount of hormones that are getting me ready for the big day! Now I tend to be someone to checks the internet for symptoms, and a few (like the back ache paired with cramping) are linked to the early stages of labor (thank goodness) so I've got a Dr's appointment this afternoon. Here's hoping for some good news!!!!!
