5k Fanatic! Maybe...
Every bride wants to get in shape for her wedding and I was no exeption. About three months before we said "I do" I joined a local gym and started working out. A lot. Boot camp classes twice a week. Body Pump twice a week. Cardio five days a week. It was crazy, but I got results that I was happy with. I found myself less stressed (if you can believe that) and just felt good. Then came the wedding, honeymoon, and the holidays. I don't think I've seen the inside of that gym since mid - November. I'll be honest - in general I hate working out just because I get bored. I can't stand running on a treadmill for miles or being on an elliptical for an hour. The last time I can say that I was in great shape is when I was running and playing soccer and that was quite a while ago! So after waffling back and forth for about a month I've decided to begin training for my very first 5k. I've been running for about 3 weeks and am up to 2 miles so far. I'm pretty excited - I have not had a goal to train for in a very long time. I added a widget to the bottom of this blog that keeps track of how many miles I've run while training to keep me motivated. So the countdown to April 10, 2011 begins... The Iron Girl 5k in Clearwater, Florida... wish me luck!
